The objective of B.E.S.T., Incorporated is to reunite the bond between the African American students through community service and annual class reunions.
The organization began because of desegregation in the 1970’s; we were all bused away from our neighborhood schools, Carnage Junior High and John W. Ligon, to attend Broughton, Enloe, and Sanderson High Schools.
In 1990, after many inquiries about the whereabouts of our classmates, several people got together to form a reunion committee. In 1992, the reunion committee was formed, and the original committee members consisted of; Vivian Lee, Zenobia Fuller-Rogers, Clarence Lamb, Minnie Cooley-Moore, Everett Gill, Phyllis Lundy, Pete Green and Annette Wagner.
These first committee members decided on the name B.E.S.T. (Broughton, Enloe, Sanderson, Together) because they wanted a name that represented each school from the neighborhood.
